Festival of Trees 2009

The morning began when guests of all ages entered the Hall, which featured rows of trees beautifully decorated by gifted designers, transforming the scenery into a magical blend of the holidays and trends in decor. As guests traveled through the wonderland, they enjoyed beautifully decorated and lighted trees and wreaths adorned with delightful images from around the world; it was a wonderful way to start the holiday season with the whole family. All were enchanted by singers and characters from local schools and groups. Entertainment, festive moods and happy people made the days delightful while raising funds in a celebration of people working together for a greater good. It was a magical event to be had by all!

In 2009 Sheltered Living celebrated the 32nd annual Festival of Trees. The festival is our signature event, featuring approximately 60 trees and wreaths in Festival Park. Civic organizations, schools, businesses and individuals design amazing creations. Each year thousands of people visit the Festival of Trees.

There are numerous ways you can participate in our Festival. They include donating a tree or wreath for Festival Park, donating items to the Silent Auction/Buy it Now, or baking cookies or bread for the bakery. Mistletoe Market is a gift shop. Consigners of jewelry, crafts, handmade toys and Christmas items are invited to put items in the Market. We also need volunteers. For more information on volunteering, please go to the UW Volunteer Solutions website or click the button below.

Proceeds from the Festival are used for the benefit of Sheltered Living clients. To learn more about the festival please contact Jannett Wiens, (785) 266-8686.
